Stormy Tuesday

Got up early this morning because of all the rain and wind. Its nice and toasty in here with the fire never going out in winter. (except when it needs cleaning out)
On days like today I like to stay in my PJ's on the couch with a blanket and a good book but unfortunately the girl that works at crystal world is going overseas for two weeks and I am filling in for her.
So I have to go out and experience all the elements.
we have a combustion heater in the shed too, so I will probable spent most of the day feeding it with wood.
Tonight is the EJ Whitten, Victoria Vs The Allstars football game. And we got free tickets to go.
It will be so much fun. It is always so funny on the telly, as old footballers, TV personalities, and comedians all have a good.
Lucky its at Etihad stadium and it has a roof.
stay dry everyone

A very productive Morning

This morning my dad came over to visit wonderson for his birthday and to bring my a trellis he had made for my grape vine.
I don't know how to train one so he did the cutting back and we tied it to the trellis he had made and bolted to my fence.
We then took lots of cuttings from the cut offs and planted them too. Hopefully they will all take and in a few years time we will have lots of table grapes.
We then cut back a few of the fruit trees and generally tidied up.
Its good when someone else does all the heavy work and I only just become the gopher.
Now its inside for some baking and some work on my stitchery.
Have a great day everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATHEW

Yep its wonderson's birthday and he is 20 today.
Not ready for a 20 year old, and I am just not ready to admit I have a 20 year old child.
But ready or not it has happend.
So as long as he has no plans to make me a mother in law or god forbid a grandmother, I will be happy.

Thank goddness thats over!

I am glad yesterday is over. Having to sit by yourself in a hospital ward waiting for your child to come out of theater is not my favorite way to spend an afternoon.
But she came back a little tender and sore but otherwise well. Again testing on the lump proved it was not sinister and everything will now be A.OK.
So while the little darling sleeps off the last of the anesthetic I can get back to my normal routine.
since now I only work one day a week, I have lots of time on my hands again and I intend to use it doing lots of things I enjoy.
The strange dreams are continuing, and the superhero and poo themes are continuing. In last nights episode I had to clean my parent house as there was bird poo all over the place. And for some reason I was hiding in a closet with a couple of 6 year old boys while batman and the joker fought it out.
If this continues another night, I may have to start drinking or something. All this clean living is getting to me.
Have a great day

Strange dreams

Last night I had a very strange dream, and I am pondering its meaning.
I was at my fathers wedding, and my father was the actor Christopher Reeves. My mother was some random woman who had already remarried and had twins.
My parents are not divorce, and before anyone says it I do not think of my dad as superman.
Back to the dream, I was holding one of the twins, they would of been about 6- 9 months old, and it pooed its nappy and all over me. The dream ended with me half naked waiting for some clean cloths, but waking up just before I got to see them.
Ok now whats with that.
Off the the hospital today.
will be back soon.

Health Update

Just a quick update on baby girls health issues.
Her ganglia has gone on its own so all is good.
Appointment with eye specialist has confirmed that her eyes are perfect and that it is normal to have one pupil slightly smaller than the other.
So all good there.
Now just the op on Monday and we can all get back to normal.
Lets hope the good news continues.

Start of the last day.

Today is the last day I will be working at curves. I am at work now and no-one is here. Why would you be. Its cold, dark and very lonely here this morning.
But as they say all things happen for a reason. We have been offered work in a neighboring curves but I have decided not to go. Its just that little to far to travel and I really like being home. I still have my job at crystal world so I will be happy with just that.
I will just have to extract the digit and get back on my treadmill.

Back to the 50's

On 60 minutes last night they had a story of how more and more women were opting to quite work and become 50's housewives.
As a mother who made the decision to quite work and stay at home to raise my children this did not seem like such a big deal.
What is the big deal is that, these women were saying that since the husband "worked" all day it was here responsibility to look after him and pamper him as he paid all the bills.
This is where I got upset. I do look after my husband, he works hard and is a good provider for our family and he always has been. But! I work very hard in the home too.
As for him paying all the bills, yes he earns the money but I budget and make a little go a long way.
Its the homemaker that can make or break a budget, and no matter how much or little money you have, even if you spend just $10.00 more than you have coming in you will be in big trouble at the end of the year.
That $10.00 a week you send on credit will add up to over $500.00 a year in debt!
So for all the women, and men, who stay at home think of your budgeting skills as money saved is money earned.
So how much can you earn this week.

Quiet Sunday Mornings

Last night we had my best friends 40th birthday party. She was the one with the ovarian cancer and at one stage we thought we would not get here. But she is healthy and happy and even has enough hair to go to the hairdressers.
So this morning I am a little slow to start, but have made quite an impact on the things to do list.
Already have cleaned the kitchen, but a load of washing on the line, and taken all the rubbish out. Have you seen the episode of the simpsons were no one take the rubbish out and the family resorts to using a stapler to staple the rubbish to the side of the bin, well that's my family.
I did not take the rubbish out yesterday, so today we had lots.
I have now decided to put the stapler on the kitchen bench just to make life easier for the little darlings as the obviously do not have enough strength to lift such heavy loads as one bag of rubbish. Any who, must shower and wash makeup off face, I'm sure I look like a panda.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone

Credit Crunch

The credit crisis has hit the gym I work at and it will close its doors on the 19th of this month. So I am out of a job.
On one hand its bad because I will miss the money, who wouldn't?. But on the other, its more time at home, were its warm and cosy.
I still have my one day a week at Crystal world so I still get a little pocket money to spend on myself.
More quilting materials perhaps?
So it will be a sad day when we close the doors forever, so now I have to motivate myself to go walking to try and keep the kilos I have lost away.
If I get chubby again I will not be happy.
So I promise to you all I will keep exercising. I never break my promise to other people, only to myself.
Off to work in crystal world were we have run out of firewood and it will be cold, but hay, you burn more calories in winter trying to keep warm.
So that's another positive.

Winter is here, best time of year!

Yes folks winter is here, with a vengeance.
Its bitterly cold, and wet and windy.
Yesterday dear old hubby and I cut up and split lots of wood, so the fire is roaring.
And the best part is I don't have to be anywhere special today so I can just sit inside and do what ever I want.
I think I will bake some bread, Yummo.
Hot fresh from the oven bread with lots of butter.
Stay warm everyone.

Its all about boobs, cars and ganglias.

Yesterday we had another visit to the breast specialist and the lump in baby girls breast has grown even bigger.
So even though it is not cancer, she is booked in on the 22nd of this month and will have it taken out.
She is a very stressed and worried little girl.
Add to this her driving test on Monday, which she failed because she went through a red arrow, and a scan on her wrist , because of a ganglia.
She is really having a bad time at the moment.
So the ganglia has disappeared on its own, the driving test has been re-booked, and the operation is not to far away. So she cant spend months worrying about it.
Not much more we can do but wait.
I'm sure all will be OK.

I'm still here!

Yes I am still here, and I haven't fallen off the perch so to speak. I have just been in a melancholic kind of place. So I have found it hard to blog.
I have been visiting others and find that they too have been blogging less often. And the blogs that have been updated have been in the same place as me.
Is it the weather? Is it the solstice about to come? Lack of sunlight maybe?
who knows!
So I will leave you with these thoughts as I get myself into gear and tidy up before I go to my quilting class.
Even that has become an effort.
And even though I live in Victoria we are still swine flu free, so you can read this blog safely.
