Todays the day

Well I am busy packing and we are schedualed to leave home at around 4.00 this afternoon. That means we can drive down to Port Melb nice and easy and have plenty of time to board the ship.
This also means I will be able to get some shots of the Spirit of Tassie too!
Very excited its been about 9 years since our last holiday and about 15 years since we last went away without the kids, not counting the flight up to Queensland and drive straight back.
So I will see ya all in a few days,
We catch the boat back on Monday morning and arrive back in melb around 8 hours later, I think.
Have a great weekend everyone

were all going on a summer holiday

Well not a summer one just a short break to tassie. Today I purchased a new camera and on Thursday Hubby and I leave on the Spirit of Tasmania. We will come home on Monday.
I love tassie the last time I went to tassie as soon as the boat docked I felt like I had come home, even though I had never been before. Hubby said I should get myself a new camera and it and the trip are for our 22nd Wedding Anniversary.
That is on Friday the 30th of July.
I am very excited and I will really enjoy the time away.
So for now I am madly getting the house into shipshape, doing all the washing so that I can pack on Thursday.
Tomorrow We have chemo again, and On Wednesday I have stitching class, so it will be thursday before I know it.

the little things that count

Today I am feeling a litte low so I decided to perk myself up by reminding myself of the little things that I love
Here goes
I love.....
the smell of newborn babies
the way the air feels after a storm
cuddling on the couch in the evenings under a quilt
the smell of fresh mowed lawn
hearing my kids talking and laughing together
watching a comedy on tv with the family and all laughing together
How the many animals learn very quickly who feeds them, so that whenever we go outside we get greeted by a cocophany of sound.
How even in blog land I can feel the love being sent through the airways.
Thank you for that

Feeling down

Yesterday was the big chemo day and all looked well in the begining. But with all that goes on in the treatment ward it kinda got to Leanne and she had another meltdown. Its so very hard to see her like that.
All I could do was just cuddle her as she cried. He step mum and I both feel so helpless and really is nothing we can do but just be there.
It really is a lesson in feeling helpless.
Thank goodness today is Wednesday and I have class, so I can just sit and work on my candlewicking BOM and just chill.

Sunday Morning Bliss

It 8.30 in the morning on a crisp, sunny Sunday Morning. I can hear the birds singing and all my animals calling for their breakfast and not a sound inside as the only other person here is Dear old hubby and He is still fast asleep.
I love it when all is quiet like this and I can have my morning brew and just be.
I hope you all have a quiet happy sunday filled with whatever you wish it to be

Monday Again

I cannot believe its monday again. The days and weeks are flying by so fast. This weekend we started on the hot house and got all the weeds out. Hubby will now rotaryhoe it a few times and then it will be ready to plant.
I dont know if everyone in Aussie land knows but a whole season of seedlings have been poisoned and come september the price of vegies will rise dramatically. This has put a firecracker under me and has got me into hight gear re planting the next crop.
So today I will sow my seeds and get them going and hopefully have them ready in about a month to go into the hothouse.
Last year I put in early tomatoes, capsicums and eggplants and we were eating home grown well before christmas.
Being able to grow your own helps to buffer you and your family from this little disasters. Not that having to buy them means we will starve, but why pay huge prices for things we can grow at home for a fraction of the cost.
So a big day of washing, which will get hung outside and not on cloths horses, yahy.
And house cleaning and sowing.
Then when that all gets done and afternoon, of craft me thinks.
Have a great day

Something strange is happening.

I will attempt to put into words how I am feeling today.
Here goes.
You know the song, Here comes the sun, Well thats kinda it. I feel like I'v been asleep for a long time and that just now I am slowly coming awake.
Its like the last few months have all been a dream, not bad or good, just a dream. I have been sleeping or even better hybernating.
And that something, something small has triggered a change and I am now slowly waking up. Is it the fact that they days are ever so slightly longer, or is it that strange glowing yellow thing in the sky.
For the last couple of days the sun has come out and just now when I let the geese and roster out it felt really nice to be outside.
Am I making any sense or just waffling.
Anywho I will enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

Ta Da!!!

This is the new lounge, its alot bigger than it looked at the shop but very comfortable.
The old lounge has found a new home at wondersons girlfriends house, so it continues to be useful.
Not much else happening, its still very cold so outside chores are not happening. So another day of comfort food and knitting and some work done on my candlewicking.

A long week

Well I cant belive its only been a week since the 21st. This week I have been and done so much that its no wonder I fell asleep on the couch on Friday night at 8.00 and hubby had to put me to bed. I didnt get up till 8.00 the next morning. I wont bore you with all the details, but chemo this week did not go to plan, bloods were down and Leannes veins were so bad they could not get the needle in anyway. She has an appointment on Monday with the oncologist so she will ask about a port.
Thats the bad news. Not too bad really in the scheme of things it could of been worse, she might of had to go into hospital. If her bloods drop lower she still might.
So fingers crossed.
On the home front I have finally accepted that the couch is way to bad to support anyone any more so it was off to buy a new lounge suite.
We finally decided on a leather one with two recliners that also rock, great for knitting in, and matching three seater with the two end seats also reclining.
NOT ARGUMENTS ABOUT WHO GETS TO SIT IN THE RECLINER!!!!
Hopefully they will be here Monday morning so I will post pics asap.
I hope your week has been a pleasant one
Enjoy the rest of the weekend
