More photos of the promised harvest

The main vegie garden till, weeded and ready for planting. Since taking this photo we have planted tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplants. This weekend I will plant more seedlings and mulch with cane mulch.
This is the plum tree, king William. It planted next to the plum Angelina. I bought Angelina as its got the same name as me! It said on the tag that if planted next to a King William both trees produced heaps more. So I did and boy are they full.
Plum jam, yummo

This is my blood orange. Its flowers smell wonderful. Its still very small so I may not let the fruit develope. Has anyone got any ideas? should I pull off the fruit, or let them develope. Please let me know.
have a great weekend

A promise of the coming harvest.

The bush beans, lettuce, and coli is growing well
the new strawberry plants are in. When the garlic is finished I will plant out the rest of the garden bed with strawberry plants.

The tommies, capsicums, more lettuce and egg plants planted in the hothouse are going gangbusters.

The craft room jigsaw

Timber: check

Plaster board: check
Windows: check
We even have the colourbond roofing and insulation.
All we need now is nice weather so the tradie can come and get the job done. He is a mate and he said he would probable get 90% done in one day.
So lets all hope for sunshine.

The latest project

This is what I have been working on lately. First I got the stichery from the internet. Just do a search for free stitchery patterns.
I then changed it a little as she had eggs in her apron and I didn't want them. Then I traced the transfer onto the fabric. I wanted the girls to look at each other so I traced two of them back to front.
I also have a group of little girls, one with a dolls pram, and I have stitched four of those. They will be incorporated into one of the boarders of the quilt.
I have used purple and green as the main part of the girls with red shoes and red flowers in their bonnets.
So the theme will continue on the patchwork part of the quilt and the red will be used as the back and binding.
Will post progress pic's as I go along.

Blue

Still feeling blue,
and there is nothing for me to do.

The weather has turned grey,
so indoors I must stay.

The rain is falling down,
making the land turn soggy brown.

When the sun turns the sky to blue,
then I will be happy too.

Not much of a poet I know but hey I gave it a shot.

This is a hard post to write. Its the post I have been dreading and the reason I decided to blog about my weight loss.
This week I have gained 400grams.
I don't know why, but I do know two things.
One. Its been a very emotional week for me. Nothing has happened I just have felt very emotional and upset this week and I don't know why.
Two. The magical 80kg barrier has always been a big one for me. Every time I try to lose weight that 80kg is the one I stumble on.
I hope I will do better this week

The big clean out!

The big clean out has begun. As I type two teenagers are cleaning out their rooms.
There are bags of cloths that no longer fit or not wanted any more, so they are being put into bags to be handed down to little cousins, and children of friends of ours.
A lot of the cloths were handed down from older children and so are on their third round of usage.
Any that cannot be handed down are used as rags in the mechanical workshop. We always need rags there.
I have save the old jeans and will use them to make a quilt.
I had better go back and supervise because if I don't they will keep everything and not throw out anything.
They are such hoarders my kids.

Craft room update

The concrete floor has been laid and the timber has been delivered. Hopefully the guy will turn up today and start construction on my new room .
I can't hardly wait.
meanwhile I have been busy cutting all the fabric for the latest quilt. I have hand stitched some sunbonnet sues and we are now in the process of creating a quilt around them.
Photos soon I promise.
The sun is shining and the birds are singing, so I will have a glorious day today.
Hope you do too!

Relaxing weekend

I have had a quiet weekend. Started on Friday night with dinner and catch up with some ladies I meet while working at Curves.
Home early, I was home by 9.30, to spend some time with the boys as they were going on their annual golf trip.
They look forward to it all year and dear old hubbys brother goes along as well. Wonderson has been going for a few years now and it has been wonderful for the three of them to bond away form us girls and just be boys.
Baby girl was away on Friday but she came home on Saturday afternoon and we have spent a simple weekend together, reading and watching girlie DVD's.
So this morning I got up early and opened up the workshop and with our mechanic will be running the show until hubby gets back this afternoon.
So have fun everyone, enjoy the week.
