A Mixed day

Today is My nieced birthday, she is 19 years. Happy Birthday Natasia.
Today is also my brother in laws wedding and soon we will be going to that!
Hubby is the best man, and in this I totally agree.Lol
But today is the day the although I am very angre, I somehow feel very blessed.
Ill explain.
My son, who up until a few months ago, was a very good boy. He did not drink too much, never drove if he drank and we saw lots of him as he would either stay home or just visit friends.
Not very big with the party mode of other kids.
But in the last few months he has gotton a little big for his boots.
I had seen him driving faster and get cockier behind the wheel of his car.
His birthday will be in a months time and he was due to come off his P's
I was a lttle worried as then he would be able to have a few drinks and still legally drive, a harder line to walk as you can never be sure you are under the limit.
Well last night the police caught him speeding. He was doing 70klms over the limit. His car has been impounded, has been fined and lost his lisence on the spot. The nice police then drove him home.
I will now like to thank those police as if that was the way he was driving then he should be off the road. I am so gratefull that they bought him home. I spent all night last night thinking of the alternatives.
Not nice bedtime thoughts I can tell you.
So now we have a walker in the family again.
I cannot speak to him about it yet as I am very cross, and I do not want to get all upset before the wedding.
But tomorrow, watch out.
Where did I go so horribly wrong.
I really feel that I have failed him somehow. I just dont know how to deal with this, as like I said he was a good kid who did not give me the normal teenage problems.
Oh my the twentys look like they are going to be fun.

A Sad day

Last night my 15 and half year old maltise shitzu died.
Her name was Zoe and she was a christmas pressie from the kids when they were little.
She was old, blind in one eye and deaf, but she was walking ok and as long as you took her to her food and water she was still eating well.
For the last few days our other dog molly, has not left her side and they were sleeping together.
Something they did not do normally.
Molly must of know something was up. They are so smart.
So its a very sad day here but at least she went peacefully in her sleep, and had Molly there by her side.

Keeping busy

The weather has turned cold and wet so I have stayed inside and accomplished quiet a lot. I have pinned and quilted another quilt and am now half way to finishing the binding.
will post pics when its done.
The washing that seems to breed in the basket was all done yesterday and is now in the craft room on cloths horses drying.
I did hang the towels out but unfortunately they are still out there getting rinsed again.
I have been cooking up a storm and all the family feel well and truely stuffed.
Because of this more time is spent at the gym by wonderson and even baby girl visited one the other day.
She told me its getting harder to run during her netball.
Apparently its my fault.LOL
all in all a good week so far, very productive.
On sunday its my brother in laws wedding, with hubby being the best man. I will get lots of pics on the day to show everyone my handsome family.

A great day

Today I have a great day planed. First I am getting picked up by a girlfriend, Nancy. We are having lunch, then we are picking up her son and we are all going into Melbourne to watch Collingwood play Geelong. She is a made geelong supperter and I am one eyed Collingwood.
We have started to do this once a year and this is the third time we will watch the game together.
It will be a great day, now all that collingwood have to do is win to make it an absolutly supendis day.
I hope your team wins for you, unless its geelong, sorry.

A Lazy day

Today I feel like being lazy, I hope thats alright with the world.
Baby girl is home and we are staying in Pj's and watching Videos.
She has just put one in so I'm off to watch.

In the last few days

Baby girls best friends eldest sister had a beautiful baby boy.
Wondersons best friend turned 21 and we had a ball at the party!
Dear hubbys brother had his batchler pary, still waiting for dear hubby to get home from that one.
And our sheep had a dear little lamb, that is jumping around the paddock as I type this.
A truely blessed week.

Nearly finished

Remember the cute little cows I was stitching a little while back, well here they are in the quilt.
This is the first quilt I have quilted myself, and very chuffed I am.
I did some stitch in the ditch around the quares, and I stitche around random cows in the boarder. Now all that I have to do is trim and bind it. Click on the pic to make it bigger

Bring on the cold!

Dear old hubby traveled up to the boarder and brought back a huge load of firewood.

This is looking up into the massive trailer and we still have the truck body to empty Here it all comes tumbling out.

And of course the natives have to come over to see whats going on.

Now we have enough wood to last at least another 4-5 years.

Mad Monday

This morning I woke with a strong desire to cook. So first thing I made hot porrage for the hubby and wonderson for their breakfast. Then I cooked up a vegie soup, using up all the vegies in the fridge. This served as lunch for the boys along with fresh scones!
I made lots of scones and for afternoon tea we will have them with wipped cream and home make plumb jam.Yummo!
I also made some more Anzacs as they were a hit the other week, and for tonight we will have some roast chicken and vegies.
I think the urge is going now.

What a great day!

Today I was out all day with My best friend leanne and her sister Mellisa. We saw the movie I love you too. Its the new aussie flick with Megan Gale and Peter Hellier. What a great movie!
I was plesantly surprised as to how much I liked it. Very funny but if you go to see it take tissues as it is a bit of a tearjerker at the end.
I really enjoyed it and recomend it to everyone.
Then we did a bit of shopping, I got some nice things for myself, because I deserve it. Then we had lunch.
It was so much fun to just go out and hang with the girls, we havnt done so for a long time.
Leanne sees the doctor on the 19th and will start chemo soon after so it may be a while before we do a whole day again.

busy little bees

We have been very busy painting and fixing up an investment home we purchased. We got it very cheap as it needed alot of work.
Bedrooms have been painted and new carpet put in. The walls all had holes in them and some of the doors needed replacing.
We have hired an older gentleman to paint the main part of the house as painting has been hard on hubbys shoulders.
No too good on my tennis elbow either. The guy is a friend of my sisters and he works really cheaply.
So today we will be tackling the garden. It has a pond and a rickity bridge that is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I dont fancy having little children around the pond either, it is rather deep.
So when it is ship shape we will rent it out to a nice family hopefully.
Between this and not feeling very well, getting tired easily, I will be glad when the work is done.
