feeling helpless

How do you help your child deal with a broken heart.
Especially if they are putting on a brave face and tell you that they are OK.
But you know that they are not.
I hate feeling helpless.

Estelle here:
Darling there is not a lot you can do apart from being there for them and saying that if they want to talk you are there for them. Just give them a quick hug for no reason.
Time will heal, but time is another dirty 4 letter word like work iron wash

Just be there if he needs to talk, boys often put on a brave face just to stop their Mums worrying.
He will talk when he is ready but it is hard knowing they are hurting and there is not a thing you can do about it.

Hello Angela
Parents always feel their childrens hurt no matter how old they are - just like the grazed knee, only thing is when they are adults you can't kiss it better. Just be there

Tell them they can be totally honest with you no matter what it is. Hope things are better soon!
