My new room.

As I type I can hear the hammering and banging going on outside. This is because dear old hubby and wonderson are pulling up the decking on part of the deck which will be enclosed and built as a sewing room for me.
I am 42 years old and have never had a room of my own. I have always shared with my sister and now my husband.
So this is very exciting for me. This will be totally my room to sew, or knit or read, or anything I want.
will post pics soon I promise.
what are you doing this weekend?

Today is dear old hubbys birthday. He is 48 today.
So this morning I got up and cooked him a big breakfast and both the kids are comming home so we can have a family dinner.
Meanwhile I had my first weigh and measure on the Tony Ferguson this morning.
I lost 200g and I cm off my waist.
Not much but better than nothing I suppose.

Finally Finished

These are what I have been working on for the last few months. I havn't had much spare time so I mainly worked on then during class times. Now all I have to do is turn them into cushion covers.
That will be next class, it will be fun picking out the fabric for that. Clicking on the pics will make them bigger.

Life is good.

Life at the moment is pretty good. I have been busy working in the office, which is now very organised and up to date, and just getting everything else in the home in order.
Baby girl performed her last ever school play and it was fantastic. All the lead roles were performed really well, but I have to say that the girl who played " lumier" stole the show.
At the end Baby girl received a photo frame with pictures of her in all the plays she was in as a momento of her time with the school and as a thank you for all her efforts.
She was so excited, as normally only those students that had performed every year got one. She did not perform in the one in her first year, as she was very shy. But she has been very helpful in all 5 shows she has been in, with choreography and teaching the younger students the dance steps.
So all in all things are going well.

Spring clean myself

Tis the first day of spring and that urge to clean and purge has set in.
First thing I did today was to go and join Tony Ferguson. I dont like these places normally knowing that you need to learn to eat healthy, and not just do the fad diets, but I have noticed myself falling into bad habits again and I think this will help me.
I contiually skip meals, and then over eat when I do, so the meal replacement shakes will stop that. I hope!
I hope to also relearn what a healthy portion is. Its all habit forming and this will give me a boost again.
So come on the journey with me and I will keep you up to date on the progress I make.

The weather and other things

The weather is still crazy here but due to my hormones and hot flushes I am not feeling the cold at all.
Even though its still August, its feeling very much like spring is here. I am getting that urge to go out and plant lots of seedlings, and the feeling grows stronger every day.
If only it would stop raining for one day, then it can continue.
Luckily some of this rain has fallen in the catchment areas, that has to be a positive.
On the domestic front, HA HA, baby girl is in the middle of her last school play ever!
This year they are performing Beauty and the Beast.
Once again she is dancing a quite a few of the dances and is having a ball. She and her best friend were really haming it up for us last night and laughing and having a great time.
There is another show tonight and two more night ones next week.
I have got tickets to all of the shows as usual, I will miss this when she finishes high school. Hopefully when she gets to uni she will be able to keep dancing and at least I will still have her concerts to go to.
Times they are a changing

Blow wind blow

Well we are still here. I really expected to be in the land of Oz this morning.
Not much damage here but in some places whole trees have been ripped out of the ground.
And apparently we still have two more days to go until the winds die down.
I may still get to see the wiz after all.
