Icy Blast

Today its cold. Very cold. Its icy and frosty and the breath coming out of the geese is steaming.
The grass is white and as the sun comes up all the fences are steaming.
I LOVE IT!
Fire is roaring and its toasty warm in here.
Too bad I have to go to work and spend it in a very cold shed.
I hope the new wood heater is on when I get there.
Stay warm everyone.

contentment

The stew is quietly bubbling away.
The bread is rising by the fire
The jelly and fruit is setting in the fridge.
And all is well with the world.

Finally content.

windy weather

Today the weather has taken a definate turn for the worst. Its very, very windy. Gale force. Its very cold and wet.
Thats the best part, its wet.
So its inside work that will be done today. Dear old hubby has helped me clean the pantry and a stock take was done.
We can live out of our pantry for about a month and not have to go to the shops.
So I will try and do just that and save all the house keeping money.
The only things I will need to buy is milk and fresh fruit.
I'll let you know how we go.
Stay dry and warm

ANZAC DAY

They shall not grow old
as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condem

But with the going down of the sun
and in the morning

We will remember them

Lest we forget.

Sudden realisation

I have come to the conclusion that life is very unfair. At least to me!
My knee has blown up and is very, very sore. I can hardly bend it at all.
That is not what is unfair. Whats unfair is that this is the third time it has happened in the last 6 weeks or so.
But that's not the unfair part.
Whats unfair is that I have realised that it happens just before it rains.
That's the unfair part.
I AM GETTING OLD.
I know you are only as old as you feel and that your age is only a number, but right now I feel like that grandma that always goes on about her bones and how she can feel the rain coming.
You know the one we always rolled our eyes at and said god that will never be me.
WELL NOW ITS ME!!!!!
So all you young ins have to listen to me.
So there!
wingeing over. Off to rub me old bones

Meet the newest members to our farm family.
This is Pepper and Mushroom. They are so cute. They are about 5 months old and their breed is called belted galloway.
They are in with the goats and sheep and are a little scared but they will all get used to each other in no time.

Greek Easter

Today is Greek Easter Sunday, and I am home all alone. The family has all gone to my parents place for the traditional lamb on the spit.
I am home all alone because I have spent the whole night vomiting ( sorry).
I feel bloody terrible. But like the marter that I am I have told them all to go and have a good time.
My head is pounding, my tummy feels like someone has been kicking it all night, and the body aches all over.
The worst is I am so hungry.
Both baby girl and dear old hubby have had this over the last week, and for them it was over in 24 hours, so only another 10 or so to go.
So I am laying on the couch, feeling very sore and sorry for myself.
Please send my some loving thoughts. I could use them.
