Leaving comments

There are a couple of blogs that I cannot leave comments on. Grannys garden, and KJ's Restart Button are just a couple. If you have to pick an account from a drop down box, then its just not working for me.
So I just thought I would let you know that I am reading your blogs just not able to leave my comment.
Today my little man turns 22. That is the age I was when I had him. If feels like just last month really.
We had a lovely lunch yesterday, and on Monday morning I will be taking him to VicRoads so that he will get his drivers licence back.
Man did the last year go quick. Im sure not as quick for him.
Off to another bbq today, busy little butterfly I am. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A surprise little boy

Some friends of ours told us about a secret they had been keeping. The had adopted a little boy! He was 6 months old. I wasnt home when the new daddy came over to tell us. I was in Hahndorf, so I dont have any details such as his name yet. Men are not good at getting the info in these situations.
I decided I wanted to make this little man a quilt but I dont have the regular 9 months to do it in, so I did a very quick easy one. I bought a panel and put a couple of boarder on. I think it looks really good. So now I will quilt it and bind it this week and hopefully be able to go and meet the new miracle soon.
A busy weekend this week with my baby boy turning 22 on sunday. We are having a family BBQ on saturday for lunch. And on sunday we are having a family BBQ at Becs house. Bec is Leannes stepmum. She has decided we are going to do this at least once a month. I am very touched they consider me as family.
So a busy weekend
have a great one everyone and stay safe.

Monday morning

Ok someone has to hit the slow down switch. The days, weeks, years are passing way too quick.
If I look at my face in the mirrow for even a few minutes I can see the wrinkles forming.
What is going on! Please slow it down, Im starting to get motion sickness.
Thats all.

Chemo

Today we had chemo again. Leanne did alot better with the meds. They still had to give her the antihistamin but it all went to plan and we were out of there in the time we were supposed to.
I left her at home in bed fast asleep.
Only one more chemo to go in this round. We now know that it will not be her last cycle as the cancer is going to come back, but we are hoping that it take a while until it does.
Fingers crossed.

resume normal transmission

Back to normal routine today, quilting class this morning. I will start work on my first baby quilt today. Its for Narelle who lives in Queensland and got married in January. I dont know the sex of the baby so have decided to do a shattered plate pattern using bright colours.
Should look great. And as it turned out Narelle is in Victoria visiting and will be here this afternoon so I can show her the quilt at its very begining stage.
have a great day everyone

Leanne enjoying her beer, its bigger than her head. lol
A shot of the bar!
And only accross the road from where we were staying. How good is that!

Hahndorf

This is the old mill hotel. This building is the reception and left of the driveway is the salon bar and next the bar are the rooms we stayed in.
The rooms are over the restaurant, See the windows above the veranda. The last two windows on the right are our room.
Here is a close up.
This was on main street in hahndorf and from here we walked to several celler doors where we were able to enjoy a taste of wine. There was also some cheese tasting at a cheese shop and chocolate tasting at a chocolate shop. And for a change of pace the German arms pub, had cheap counter meals and some lovely german beer, we even had some apple cider which they had on tap.
do you see a theme happenening, yeap it was all about food and drink the whole week! I think we both gained about 2 kilos but what a wonderful holiday we had.

Solar panels and quilting

These are the solar panels at the back, East facing, of the house. These have been wired to a 2kw inverter.
These panels are on the front, West facing, of our house and have been connected to a 3kw inverter. So all together we will be pumping a massive 5kw of energy!
This is for Leanne of Cottage Tails, link on side bar, She wanted to see what I was quilting. This is the candlewicking quilt. I tried to get a full photo but the stitching wont show. So here it is on my machine I quilted it stitch in the ditch style.
come back tomorrow for the start of the holiday snaps.

Well we had a blast at Hahndorf and the Adelaide hills, we ate and drank and ate and drank, then for a change we ate and drank again.
Having hit the road at 5am I am very tired so I will catch you all up and post pics in the next few days. While I was away the solar panels arrived and are on the roof in the sun generating power! So lots to post about but for now I think I will just sit and relax and wait for hubby to get home.
Dont tell him but I did miss him alot.

Only one more sleep

Tomorrow morning Leanne and I will head off for an adventure to South Australia. I have never been west before so its going to be exciting.
I will check maps today, and write down where I have to go, so we dont get too lost.
Dont really have a plan we will just hit the road and see where it takes us. We have decided that our first stop will be hahndorf but from there we will see what the land has to offer,.
So if you know of any great places let me know. We want to do some wine tasting, and food tasting, and I would love to go fishing if the weather is right. We will spend one night in Adelaide so any good places to stay and eat we would love to know about them.
I will post pics and tell you all about it when I get back, unless I find an internet cafe. We will be gone until Friday so have a great week everyone.

I have been tagged

http://tracey-craftyscraps.blogspot.com/
Tracey from craftyscraps has tagged me and now I have to answer some questions and choose who to tagg.
here goes.
If you could be any historical or current character who would you be?

no one in particular, but I would love to have been a famous writer. One whose books have lasted generations and stood the test of time.
Name an interesting fact about yourself...........

I have survived all that life has given me, and I will survive all thats yet to come. ( I hope)
Name one thing that you would change in yourself?

I would love more confidence.

If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?

I would go back to before my brother passed and tell him that I love him.
which charactor traits annoy you?

I do not like fake people who bignote themselves. Get over it!
What do you consider your biggest achievement?

I have to go with Tracey on this one, My kids!

Now, who to tag????? I have to tag 8

Missing marbles

I think I am finally losing it! Last night at around 1ish I was fast asleep and woke up suddenly because I heard a female screaming like she was being attacked. I flew outta bed, and went in to check on baby girl. She of cause was fast asleep. hubby also flew outta bed to see what the hell I was doing. I kept saying I can hear someone screaming. I finally calmed down a little and climbed back into bed, but the heart was racing and I was shaking. Also because you have to open a door before you walk through it, and not try and do both at the same time I have a huge bruise on my knee. I dont know what happend but it seemed so real to me.
This morning everyone tiptoed around the crazy lady, so that no one could upset her.
It was very bizare and i really dont know what happened.
So if anyone knows where my missing marbles are please let me know, I really need them

Blogger Blunders

There are some blogs I cannot comment on, so just letting you know I do read all he blogs.
Cathy, I havnt done anything bad, for a change, haha. I have been offered a few hours a week working in the quilt shop that I have my classes in.
I think I got too much info on the first day and had a bit of a melt down. I will learn it all. I promise!
Very cold here on the first official day of winter. It was only 1.5 degrees going into gym this morning. I think I should get credit just for getting outta bed and turning up.
Off to the oncologist today for a update on Leanne and how she thinks chemo is going. With the fact that she has had a reaction, she may decided to change the drugs used.
Stay warm everyone, and for those in the rest of the world sounds like you need to stay dry.
The weather is going a bit crazy lately.
