Friday night Bliss

Yesterday at the hospital Leanne had a reaction to the chem. As she has now had that particular one three times we were told to keep an eye out for it as, its common.
So we had to stop treatment and give her some antihistamin to stop the reaction. Wait half an hour and start again.
No pleasent, as she is always just on this side of tears as it is.
But she slept through the rest of the treament and we got her home and into bed.
But today I am cooking spagetti Bol, maybe an apple crumble with icecream for dessert, and baby girl and I will sit on the couch and watch the royal wedding.
Absolute Bliss, love a wedding I always cry.

outta bed

I have hauled my ass outta bed, as Leanne has  chemo today.
I can breath today, and most of the pains have gone. After 12 hours sleep I
still feel very tired. But we must soldier on.
But I think I will be back on the couch as soon as I get home.

A night out

Had a lovely dinner with two old friends from school last night.
It was strange to be going out in the middle of the week. We never did that when the kids were little and I think the habit just stuck. The weather was terrible it poured down for the drive into the city. But It had all cleared for the drive home.
Big party animals that we are we were back home in bed by 10!
Tomorrow is good friday so I will be getting some fish out for dinner, do you all have fish for good friday?

OMG!!

while at the gym today I  noticed that I was missing my gold pandora. The bracelet had a gold clasp and gold beads on it. Its worth a bit of money, but thats not why Im upset. Im upset as each bead on it  was given to me by dear hubby for birthdays, christmas's and anniversarys.
The bracelet is insured so Im sure I will be able to replace it, but it wont be the same.
I am gutted! Please can you all put out good energy and hope that it turns up. It means alot to me.
So upset, I cannot tell you.

Frugal lunch

Today I wanted something a little different for luch, so I decided to use up the left over pumkin and a couple of potatoes. I always have light coconut milk and curry paste  from aldi in the cupboard so I made spicy pumkin soup.
You just cut up your pumkin, and a couple of small potatoes add enough water to cover and boil. when they are nearly soft enough to mash, add some curry paste. Boil until they are ready to mash and water level has reduced till almost ready to burn level. But not quite! Add the can of coconut milk and mash the vegies. Bring back to boil and simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes, till the coconut milk is cooked and the tast isnt too overpowering.
And viola spicy pumking soup, servered with homemade bread its delish, but I didnt make any so some toast is just as nice.
Warms you up on a chilly and rainy day like we are having today. And there is enough for hubby and babygirl to have some for their dinner too.

Climate Change

The weather here has been nice and sunny and warm for the past few weeks. Very spring like, and the apple trees are blooming.
Sounds wonderful doesnt it! But then you remember that I live in Melbourne, Australia and it ment to be autumn now. Only a few weeks ago we harvested apples from these same trees.
Now I know that I am just a silly housewife and mother and what would I know, so could those learnered scientists who tell us that climate change is a fallacy please explaine this to me.
Im just saying.

20 today!

Happy birthday to my beautiful baby girl. She is 20 today.
Here she is with her wonderful boyfriend Harley.

Hospitals

Yesterday was spent at the hospital. Not for Leanne but for her step mum Bec. she had to have a minor op and so Leanne and I took her. Bec is the other half of Leannes support team. She and I have been to all her chemo treatments with her . So it was the same three people  but this time it was a little different. So when Bec went into theatre it was Lee and I waiting.
We have all become close through all the treatments and we will always be there for each other. So Lee and I waited for her to come out of theatre and stayed with her till she was settled into her room. We felt bad leaving her alone, but as luck would have it just as we were walking out Leannes Dad walked in. So we showed him her room and left him to look after her.
I will ring her later today to make sure she is ok. Im sure she is fine, she will be sore for a couple of weeks  though.

Meltdown

Leanne had a meltdown today. We got some bad news on Wednesday at the oncologist and it finally hit her. It was something else that set her off but it was the news that keep her crying. So we decided to relax and enjoy life a little so we went fishing. This is at Tooradin river, and we picked a nice shady spot. The river is tidal and there wasnt alot of water so you had to cast out pretty far. Leanne didnt know how to cast so I showed her and let her have a go. Well what a laugh, it went everywhere but were she wanted it to go. Eventually she cast into a tree and the line broke. So at this stage I was nearly wetting myself with laughter so we decided to pack up and go home. Which was good timing really as baby girls new car was ready to be picked up. So lee and I went and got that.
But thats another story for another day

Daylight savings ends

It sunday morning and I have been awake for about an hour. I forgot to turn the clock back and found that I had a sleep in. But then I changed the time and it was only 5.30. Its all good though as now I have an extra hour today to get stuff done.
Only its dark, and cold and Im the only one up.
So I may just have my cup of tea and go snuggle back into bed.
