Icy Blast

Today its cold. Very cold. Its icy and frosty and the breath coming out of the geese is steaming.
The grass is white and as the sun comes up all the fences are steaming.
Fire is roaring and its toasty warm in here.
Too bad I have to go to work and spend it in a very cold shed.
I hope the new wood heater is on when I get there.
Stay warm everyone.

The stew is quietly bubbling away.
The bread is rising by the fire
The jelly and fruit is setting in the fridge.
And all is well with the world.

Finally content.

windy weather

Today the weather has taken a definate turn for the worst. Its very, very windy. Gale force. Its very cold and wet.
Thats the best part, its wet.
So its inside work that will be done today. Dear old hubby has helped me clean the pantry and a stock take was done.
We can live out of our pantry for about a month and not have to go to the shops.
So I will try and do just that and save all the house keeping money.
The only things I will need to buy is milk and fresh fruit.
I'll let you know how we go.
Stay dry and warm

They shall not grow old
as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condem

But with the going down of the sun
and in the morning

We will remember them

Lest we forget.

Sudden realisation

I have come to the conclusion that life is very unfair. At least to me!
My knee has blown up and is very, very sore. I can hardly bend it at all.
That is not what is unfair. Whats unfair is that this is the third time it has happened in the last 6 weeks or so.
But that's not the unfair part.
Whats unfair is that I have realised that it happens just before it rains.
That's the unfair part.
I know you are only as old as you feel and that your age is only a number, but right now I feel like that grandma that always goes on about her bones and how she can feel the rain coming.
You know the one we always rolled our eyes at and said god that will never be me.
So all you young ins have to listen to me.
So there!
wingeing over. Off to rub me old bones

Pepper and Mushroom

Meet the newest members to our farm family.
This is Pepper and Mushroom. They are so cute. They are about 5 months old and their breed is called belted galloway.
They are in with the goats and sheep and are a little scared but they will all get used to each other in no time.

Greek Easter

Today is Greek Easter Sunday, and I am home all alone. The family has all gone to my parents place for the traditional lamb on the spit.
I am home all alone because I have spent the whole night vomiting ( sorry).
I feel bloody terrible. But like the marter that I am I have told them all to go and have a good time.
My head is pounding, my tummy feels like someone has been kicking it all night, and the body aches all over.
The worst is I am so hungry.
Both baby girl and dear old hubby have had this over the last week, and for them it was over in 24 hours, so only another 10 or so to go.
So I am laying on the couch, feeling very sore and sorry for myself.
Please send my some loving thoughts. I could use them.

Feeling Low

Not in a happy place today. All my hats do not seem to fit as well as they should. I am getting alot of "stuff" done but like a machine. Not really engaged. I am not looking forward to goint into work this afternoon, I am currently in the office of our own business, and not wanting to be.
And do not want to go home and do all that needs doing there.
What is going on with me.
I really just need to escape from all the expectations of everyone, and for once in a long time do exactly as I want.
But I cant.
I even have an intimo bra party to go to tonight and I just want to blow that off too.
But I cant.
Cant disapoint anyone, or hurt anyones feelings.
Oh well I'll get over it.

The winter plantings

I cleaned up and replanted this garden beds a few weeks ago, but I havn't had time to take and post the pics until now.

The chillies are in from summer and until the frost I will keep them in and see what happens. I will endevour to protect them during the winter and hopefully get a head start for next summer. The silverbeet was also planted in late summer but did nothing until recently when the rains came.

This year I have planted kale, last year I tried the seeds but the rains washed them away so I bought the seedlings this year.

I have also planted the usual cabbage, colliflower and broccolli.

Lets hope winter will be better than summer was.

A day of rest.

Yesterday went well. Everyone ate drank and were merry. Baby girl go lots of pressies and money to spend.
So after spending many hours in the kitchen, today was a kitchen free day.
Lots of left over cake in the fridge and I have not eaten much at all. Yesterday I didnt have any at all so today I allowed myself one piece.
I was a very good girl.
I hope you all had lots of chocolate eggs, and enjoyed each and everyone.
Back to the real world again tomorrow.

The quiet before the storm

The house is nice and quiet now, but in a few short hours it will be full to busting.
The day of the family BBQ is here.
Baby girl went out last night to her first official over18's nightclub and will be back today to greet her guests.
I spent yesterday baking for today, and will spend the morning organising the salads. All hubby has to do is cook the meat.
So to everyone, enjoy your Easter Sunday, with whomever you spend it with and to Lisa, a very happy birthday!

when will I learn.

Today I have said yes to opening up curves as a big problem at our sister club is keeping our manager there. So it off to curves to open at 7.00, work till 8.30, and then come home to get ready for a full day at crystal world.
I'm too old for all this. All I had to say was no, I couldn't work today, but No, I said I could help out.
I will suffer for this, still trying to fight off a virus, so I will pumb up in Olive Leaf Extract and vitamine B to help.
This weekend is also busy, baby girls acual birthday is on saturday and we are having a family BBQ on sunday for her.
I really need a wife!
have a good easter holiday everyone, even if you dont celebrate easter.
Drive carefully on the roads.

The new baby

This is my new baby. Isn't she cute. Everyone who knows me, knows I have wanted one of these for a very long time.

We picked her up on Friday but I only named her last night.

Her name is Alice. It really fits her.

I am very excited, and my old car, Lilly, is now officially the baby girls.

All she needs now is her licence.

Quilting Again

Today I was back at quilting class and I really enjoyed it. I am still working on my block of the month, since last year as I have not touched it since the last class in November.
I have been too busy with all the jobs and housework. So I decided last week that I would take two hours every week on a Wednesday morning and reclaim them as my own.
So now I have been inspired to sew again.
Hopefully I will have a finished quilt soon to show you and some great new projects to tell you about.
